While the western world uses the Bible primarily as a self-help book of rules that tell us what to and not to do, the purpose of the Scriptures is to reveal
Who God is. When you get to the New Testament, you are able to get a complete picture. When Jesus came to Earth, it was clear the Scriptures alone could not reveal God. So, He sent His Son in human form to reveal to man His Heart.

Jesus, love in human form; God in human form.

Yes, the Scriptures share with us God’s heart towards humanity allowing us to understand who we are in Him. But first, we need to view the Bible from the perspective; “what is God revealing about Himself?”

It’s about Him first. We can’t find our identity outside of Him. When you come to know more of who God is, you automatically will discover who you are … in Him.
