The Power of Testimony

Every word of God proves true. He is a shield to all who come to him for protection.

Proverbs 30:5-6 (NLT)

To offer another translation that may open up the fullness and offer a “picture” of this verse for you, let me share The Passion Translation.

Every promise from the faithful God is pure and proves to be true. He is a wrap-around shield of protection for all his lovers who run to hide in him.

Thousands of years ago there were men (and women) who were declaring that God’s word and promises prove true. AND ever since then there are still men and women who have testimonies demonstrate His faithfulness. Testimonies offer us something to hope for and evidence of what’s unseen.

Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.

Hebrews 11:1 (NLT)

Let me share this in a version that is more traditional and we are accustomed to hearing it.

Now the faith is the assurance (substance) of things hope for, the conviction (evidence) of things not seen.

I don’t know about you, but I love hearing testimonies about what God has done and is doing. It injects me with joy because it proves that His Word and promises are true, just as it says in this proverb.

May this serve as encouragement and confirmation that God’s promises are true and that He is our shield and refuge. Stand firm on the rock which is Jesus because He is the Word of God.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.

John 1:1

May this also serve as encouragement for you to share your testimony. Share with other, either in conversation, in writing, on social media, or through a gathering what the Lord has done in your life so that you can inject those around you with the hope of Jesus Christ and with the evidence of things unseen. Encourage your family and friends to do the same. Ask them “Do you have a testimony you can share with me or with others? What has the Lord done recently in your life?”

Let’s continue to say that the Word of the Lord is tested and true.
