The pursuit of happiness is something that all humans partake in, even without realizing. It’s in our design to live in joy because it’s part of God’s nature. Yes, God has joy. It’s kinda funny saying it because I’ve never heard anyone say it like that.
How do I know God has joy?
In John 15, Jesus says that He loves us just as God loves Him. If we live 𝑓𝑜𝑟 Him, we live 𝑖𝑛 His love just as Jesus lives in the love of the Father. He shared His message at the Last Supper about love so that we could be filled with 𝑯𝒊𝒔 joy and our joy be full – meaning there would be no lack of joy. Doesn’t that sound glorious?
God has joy because He said that if we live 𝑓𝑜𝑟 Him and 𝑖𝑛 Him, He will give us His joy. Therefore, if we get His joy, that means God has joy.
To be filled with His joy, living in Love is a requirement. To live in His love, surrendering to Him (obeying His commands) is a requirement. We surrender not because we have to, but because we love and desire to please and satisfy the 𝑶𝒏𝒆 we love. This is only possible because of God’s love for us. We love because He first loved us.
Bask in His love today. Then stay there because His love is your home. It’s where you belong. It’s where you will find joy.
““I love each of you with the same love that the Father loves me. You must continually let my love nourish your hearts. If you keep my commands, you will live in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands, for I continually live nourished and empowered by his love. My purpose for telling you these things is so that the joy that I experience will fill your hearts with overflowing gladness!”
