Today is my daddio’s birthday. An amazing man with integrity. A funny man with a dry sense of humor. A stoic man filled with love. I’m glad I got his brains and his physical strength.
I’ve always said this and it remains true. He never treated me in a limited capacity because I am a girl. He never considered me weaker because I was a girl. I was never confined to just cleaning and cooking to help around the house. You’d see me carry Sheetrock, plywood, and other such things up 2 flights of stairs… as young as 12 years old. Some would think that’s absurd, but I’m extremely grateful because I know that being a girl doesn’t place limits on me. I learned that from both my dads. My Heavenly Father and this man in this picture.
Dad, you inspire me more than you know. Your intelligence and physical abilities (even at your age) push me to be better. Thank you for loving me even when I wasn’t easy to love. I know things weren’t always easy but you always worked hard to keep our family together, happy, and loving. We are an awesome family and it’s in large part because of you. I know you may not hear that a lot but I see it. Love you daddio. Now go and enjoy the funeral 😉 (j/k)
